The 5th edition of the Annotated Labor Code by Alcides Martins is now available.
The new and extensive amendments to the Labour Code, introduced by Law no. 13/2023 of April 3, along with the data gathered in the meantime, prompted the release of this new edition.
Naturally, in addition to updating the legal text, the annotations, cross-references, and case law summaries have also been improved. Given the breadth of the Code and its complementary legislation, efforts were made to clarify the meaning of many of its provisions to facilitate understanding and systematic interpretation, to reflect the evolution of case law, and to provide additional information on related matters, including those of a social and economic nature. Throughout this process, the presumed interests of the readers—whether or not they have legal training—were always taken into account.
